Technical for Non-Technical – CS2
This course is designed to give non-technical staff in the motor industry such as sales, reception, and parts personnel an insight how vehicles work, technical information, common faults and parts information.
Course Content:
Deliver an understanding of modern vehicle systems, their safety requirements, and the importance of routine servicing.
While participants are not expected to carry out technical repairs, the training ensures they can interact safely around vehicles, support customers with confidence, and recognise when to involve qualified technicians.

Attainment:
• Understand the basic operation of key vehicle systems including ignition, engine, exhaust, steering, suspension, transmission, braking, and ADAS
• Recognise and apply health & safety requirements, including PPE, workplace responsibilities, and safe practices around high-voltage and moving components
• Identify the evolution of vehicle technology from internal combustion engines to hybrids, plug-in hybrids, extended range EVs, battery electric vehicles, and fuel cell vehicles
• Appreciate the importance of routine servicing and maintenance in ensuring safety, reliability, efficiency, and customer trust
• Communicate effectively with customers about servicing needs, vehicle systems, and safety considerations without overpromising or attempting technical work
