SEG Level 2 Award in MOT Testing (Class 4&7)

Developed with DVSA to provide the knowledge and skills required to perform MOT Tests on cars and vans.

Entry requirements

To take this course, learners must meet the following criteria:
• Have a full UK valid driving licence
• Hold a level 3 qualification or equivalent
• Have a minimum of 4 years’ full-time experience
• Have no unspent criminal convictions
• Be of ‘good repute’

Content

Units covered in this qualification include:
• Safe working practices in the test centre
• Working relationships within the test centre
• Managing professional developments as an MOT Tester
• Carrying out pre-test checks for a statutory periodic roadworthiness test.
• Carrying out a statutory periodic roadworthiness test.

After you complete the MOT Tester Training – Cars & Vans, you will need to be observed completing a VT8 demo MOT test to receive your testers licence.
