Course Summary
This course will provide delegates with the knowledge, practical skills and understanding of the LV Tyre identification. Diagnosing Tyre faults, removal and replacement, puncture repair and safety.
The course contains practical content and full participation by delegates will be required.
The course is designed for technicians who carry out this aspect of repair.
• Tyre development – the importance of the pneumatic tyre
• Tyre size and other sidewall markings
• Wheel types and identification
• Wheel maintenance, fixings and the importance of torque tyre legislation
• Workshop Health & Safety
• Light Vehicle tyre fitting techniques – theory and practical
• Tyre wear and damage recognition of common wear patterns, identifying common causes and practical diagnosis exercises
• Minor Light Vehicle tyre repairs
• Factors affecting tyre life and their control – pressure recommendations
All of the above will be carried out using modern tyre equipment.
Prerequisites
Delegates should be LV tyre fitters who have recently started work or are intending to start work on LV vehicles. The course will also offer an experienced LV tyre fitter the opportunity to receive formal training on a range of LV tyre related practical topics.
