IMI Levels 2/3 Awards in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Maintenance, System Repair & Replacement

This programme is designed for technicians who may encounter electric & hybrid vehicles within a routine maintenance situation. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around a vehicle that may have had damage to its high-energy or electrical systems.

The Level 3 qualification will allow an individual to work on any system except the battery.

That’s Covered…

• Identify components of hybrid systems
• Safely de-energise and re-energise the high-voltage system
• Connect an external charging lead from domestic sockets & charging points
• Identify additional tools & equipment for carrying out work on hybrid vehicles
• Identify high-voltage cabling and components, and work safely around them.
• Describe replacing high-voltage components on
de-energised systems
• Work safely on electric & hybrid vehicles and identify the right protective equipment
• Isolate and re-instate vehicles after repairs affecting hybrid systems
• See how hybrid technologies may effect repairs on other vehicle systems

• Tailor our IMI course to the requirements of specific light vehicles/HGVs
• Cover Insulation Testing
• Provide an overview of some of the IMI’s in-depth tasks in the IMI Electric Vehicle Level 4 Advanced Course.
