IMI Level 3 Accreditation Light Vehicle Inspection Technician

This needs to be your first step in becoming an MOT Tester if you do not hold a level 3 qualification recognised by DVSA.
This course is for Technicians who have the experience required, but do not hold a qualification/accreditation to support it.

Requirements
Ideally, technicians should be in full-time employment with a minimum of 4 years’ experience.

Course Content
The course is split into two sections, with the first two days going over and fine tuning the skill sets you will need for the assessment.

Topics covered will include:
Emission testing and diagnosis, electrical circuit testing, braking system inspection including efficiency calculations.
Vehicle appraisal including steering & suspension systems.

With the third day being the assessment itself, which is a mixture of five practical tasks and an online test.
