IMI Level 3 Accreditation – AOM012 Four-Wheel Alignment

Steering and Suspension faults often manifest themselves in other areas such as uneven tyre wear, poor driving characteristics and ADAS Errors.

This course is designed for automotive technicians who want to further develop their knowledge and skills in Four-wheel alignment systems. to assess the competence of the candidate’s knowledge, skill and ability to check the vehicles four-wheel alignment / geometry.

This will include ensuring that the vehicle is initially set up to the correct specifications and then using industry recognised wheel alignment equipment record the readings obtained from the vehicle and compare them against the vehicle manufacturer’s data.

The learner will be required to pass an IMI online Assessment and reset a vehicle’s wheel alignment to the vehicle manufacturer’s specification.

Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to:

• Understand the principles of operation on steering and suspension systems
• Identify and describe the components of steering and suspension systems
• Effectively carry out four-wheel alignment
• Return to specification components in steering and suspension systems using alignment correct methods
