HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work

This 3-day Level 3 First Aid at Work (FAW) course provides technicians with the in-depth skills needed for the high-risk garage workshop environment.
Unlike the more basic 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course, it covers a broader range of injuries and medical conditions that technicians are more likely to encounter in the workplace.

Prerequisites

Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all face-to-face sessions.

Course Content

• The roles and responsibilities of the first aider
• Assessing an incident
• Recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness
• Assisting a casualty who is suffering from minor and major injury and illness
• Chest injuries
• Spinal Injuries
• Anaphylaxis
• This course also includes AED machine training

The qualification is divided into two parts, day one covers the Level 3 Emergency First Aid in the Workplace and day 2 and 3 covers the Level 3 Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace.

Assessment of this qualification is by ongoing assessment and oral questioning.

HABC First aid at work (FAW) certificate, valid for 3 years.
