HABC Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid At Work

The Highfield’s Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work Course meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, that all organisations must have adequate first aid provision.
Equip your team with the skills to handle common garage workshop injuries in just one day. Designed for workshops with fewer than 25 staff, this course follows the HSE’s Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus to ensure your team is trained to the appropriate standard. This provides peace of mind that your first-aid provision is adequate for your specific workplace needs.

​Prerequisites
Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.

Course Content
• The role of the first aider
• Communicating with a casualty
• Contents of first aid kits (and avoid cross infection)
• Recording of incidents and accidents
• Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
• Administer first aid to a casualty who:
‣ is unconscious
‣ requires cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
‣ is choking
‣ is wounded or bleeding
‣ is in shock
‣ has minor conditions – to include: minor cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns & scalds, small splinter
• This course also includes AED machine training

Qualification
​HABC Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate, valid for 3 years.
