FGAS: Refrigerant Handling

This F-Gas training courses is designed for both experienced air-conditioning engineers and also candidates who are looking to gain qualifications in the air conditioning sector. This F Gas Regulations qualification meets the legal requirements of EC Regulation 842/2006 (commonly known as the F Gas Regulation).

Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of this course the candidate will understand

• The different types of refrigerants and the regulations relating to them, the safety precautions relating to leaks, excessive heat and ordering and receiving refrigerant
• The candidate will know the A/C principles including conduction, radiation, evaporation and condensation, how heat is transferred and latent heat of evaporation
• The candidate will know the health and safety requirements relating to handling refrigerant, first aid and the PPE equipment needed
• The candidate will know the best practices of servicing vehicle A/C systems, refrigerant recovery, vacuuming a system, leak detection and oil management
• The candidate will also gain an understanding of the A/C pressure gauges
