Electric Vehicle Three Phase Motors/Generators

Three Phase Motors and Generators are at the heart of any electrically propelled vehicle.
This course will unravel and explain the diff erent types of three phase motors/generators, how they are constructed, how they work, and how they are operated.
During the 2-day course there are lots of practical exercises and examples to help you understand three phase motors and generators. This course is ideal for a delegate who has completed their IMI Level 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Repair and Replacement and wants to go more in-depth.

The course is broken down into 4 parts

Part 1 – Types of Motors
Part 2 – Motors Construction & Function
Part 3 – Types of Generators
Part 4 – Inverter/Converter construction and operation

• Understanding the difference between DC & AC motors
• Monitoring an AC motors three phases
• Speed controlling Three Phase Motors
• Oscilloscope for three phase feedback position sensors
• Insulation testing Three Phase Motors/Generators
• Milliohm testing Motors/Generators
• Voltage and Current Testing Motors/Generators

At the end of this course, you will have an in-depth knowledge and understanding on three phase motors/generators, being able to test, diagnose and repair/replace when necessary.
