CAN-Bus Networks

To become an Accredited Diagnostic Technician we offer a pathway of 11 one day courses, followed by a two day accreditation. The courses are designed to lead in to each other, but can be taken individually as singular, stand-alone courses to enhance your skill set if preferred or required. You can also choose to sit the courses and not continue to the final accreditation if you wish.

CAN-bus has been adopted so widely within the automotive industry, it requires a level of understanding for any technician. This course simplifies the technology and clearly demonstrates why it’s so important to understand. This will then enable candidates to diagnose complex issues with ease.

Subjects covered include:
• CAN
• LIN
• MOST
• Flexray
• CAN-bus speed
• How to interpret CAN-bus data
• Looking at Bus configurations including Loop & Star

Also being taught different methods of diagnosing CAN-bus faults using a Picoscope & mathematical equations as well as how to trace a component on a network by downloading data to a CSV file.
