This course offers essential knowledge and hands-on skills specifically relating to BMW and JLR spare and lost key programming.
BMW, Jaguar and Land Rover popular car brands in the UK. With nearly 2 million BMW’s and over 500 thousand JLR’s on the road, the demand for key services has never been higher.
Delegates will learn the expertise needed to accurately assess, cut, and program keys, equipping them with the vital skills to meet today’s growing automotive needs.

Course Goals and Objectives
By the end of the course, technicians will be able to:

BMW Key Programming

• Understand BMW & Mini Immobiliser Systems
Learn to identify and understand the key components of a BMW/Mini immobiliser system and how they work together to control vehicle access and starting. Systems covered are EWS, CAS, FEM and BDC (1995-2023)
• ISN Reading
Understand when and how to read an ISN (Individual Security Number) which is required when programming keys to certain immobiliser systems
• Key Cutting
Understand the key profiles used within the BMW/Mini range and how to cut the key in both spare key and all keys lost situations
• Remote & Transponder Types
Gain a comprehensive understanding of which remotes and transponders are compatible with each immobiliser system. How to identify the correct remote or transponder and how to use (if required) a universal remote
• ECU & Immobiliser Module Locations & Removal
Gain the knowledge of where the required modules are located and removal techniques. Including how to strip the relevant module and read the required data
• Practical Application of Key Programming Tools
Learn to use specialized key programming tools and equipment effectively, ensuring technicians are prepared for real-world BMW/Mini key programming and cutting tasks. Tools used in the course are Xhorse Dolphin 005L Key Cutting Machine, ACDP, Xhorse Key Tool Max Pro, Xhorse VVDI Prog, Obdstar G3 & Mr Li (Lishi) lockpicks
• FRM3 Module Repair
Learn how to repair the FRM3 module when data is corrupted quickly and easily using ACDP

JLR Key Programming

• Understand JLR Immobiliser Systems
Learn to identify and understand the key components of a JLR immobiliser system and how they work together to control vehicle access and starting. Modules covered are KVM & BCM for vehicles from 2010-2025
• KVM/RFA Programming
Understand when and how to read a KVM (Keyless Vehicle Module) or RFA (Remote Function Actuator) which is required when programming keys to certain immobiliser systems
• Key Cutting
Understand the key profiles used within the JLR range and how to cut the key in both spare key and all keys lost situations
• Remote Types
Gain a comprehensive understanding of which remotes are compatible with each immobiliser system. How to identify the correct remote and how to use (if required) a universal or “changeable ID” remote
• ECU & Immobiliser Module Locations & Removal
Gain the knowledge of where the required modules are located and removal techniques. Including how to strip the relevant module and read the required data
