Overview
SEG Vehicle Technician Accredited Assessment – 4 days
Awarded by the Skills & Education Group, formerly ABC Awards, the Vehicle Technician Accredited Assessment (VTAA) recognises knowledge and skills at Level 3 for technicians without a formal qualification. The VTAA is a certificated course recognised by DVSA as a pre-entry accreditation to become an MOT tester.
The VTAA course is recognised by the DVSA and is an alternative to IMI Light Vehicle Inspection Technician. The course will develop your skills around emissions, electrics, steering, suspensions, wheels, tyres and brakes. To pass the assessment you must pass all 4 modules, which is split into a series of small practical tasks and an online exam.
Prerequisite
It is necessary to have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a working garage and a basic understanding of MOT Testing. There are 3 different ways this course can be run depending on your skills and availability.
Content
After completion of the course you will be able to calibrate emission test equipment before testing a vehicle, accurately inspect a vehicle, diagnose faults and correct repair requirements.
