Heavy Vehicle Diesel Sensors:HV57

This course provides an important introduction to heavy vehicle diesel technology and contains the foundation knowledge required to attend further Bosch courses on specific heavy vehicle diesel systems.
A proven mix of classroom sessions and workshop practical tasks are combined to give a good fundamental understanding of heavy vehicle diesel engines and the exhaust after treatment components.

• Diesel fundamentals
• Low pressure fuel system
• High pressure fuel system
• Induction system components
• Emission control systems
• Typical diesel system sensors and actuators

Prerequisites
Delegates should ideally be familiar with the use of a diagnostic tester and an oscilloscope (HV56) and a basic understanding of sensors and actuators would be advised but not essential.

Attainment
On successful completion of HV57, delegates will be able to:
• Identify components of typical electronic heavy vehicle diesel control systems and state their function
• Carry out fault diagnosis and test procedures on typical electronic heavy vehicle diesel control systems
• Perform the necessary tests to effectively diagnose heavy vehicle diesel sensor system faults
